I don't think we could continue the War (WWII) without the Jeep. It does everything. It goes everywhere. It is faithfull as a dog, as strong as a mule, and as agile as a goat. It carries twice what it was designed for, and keeps on going. It doesn't even ride so badly after you get used to it." Ernie Pyle, US Army

-No it's not that bad to drive. And believe me, you don't need a war either to appreciate this vehicle.
Willy-Overland's old warrior earned its name in the war field for it's performance and durability. The vehicle got its name from a character in the old Popeye cartoon series, in the early thirties. "Eugene the Jeep", which the character was named, was a magical character that came from the fourth dimension and could travel anywhere he wanted. He could also perform minor miracles. With this caracter in mind, this surely tells us that the soldiers must have been impressed and satisfied with their old Willys MA from WWII. |
